F.A.Q.

Why Should I coupon?

Couponing is about shopping smart. All items go on sale. Yes the items that you purchase on a regular bases will go on sale. Then you wait for the coupons that you are collecting match up with a sale for that item. You can save a ton of money by Shopping Smart.

Does it take a long time to Shop this way?

At first until you get use to shopping this way it may take a little more time. Once you have it figured it out, you will spend less time. It's different then your use to. You have to change the way you think. You want to get to the point were you are just restocking your pantry instead of buying meals that you need for the pay period. You are establishing your own store where all the items in your store are always on sale at the lowest prices. Buying this way saves you time and money. Just think about it, if you buy 10 cans of tomatoes at a discounted price verses one at regular shelf price, you just saved yourself 9 trips to the store You paid so little it was like you got the other 9 cans for Free. You just saved yourself time and money.

Why do I need multiple Newspapers?

Wouldn't you rather buy 5 items at that discounted price then just one. You clipped and organized one set of inserts just to buy one item. If you had multiple coupons for that one item then you can buy 5. You just saved yourself time and money. Plus the more coupons you can get the faster "Your store" builds up. You will literally get to the point were you will just be restocking your store. This will happen faster with more coupons. Plus the more item you have in "Your Store" the longer you can wait for that item to fall to the lowest price and then stock up on it so you are getting things as close to Free as you can.

Can I just use printable coupons?

Honestly you can do some of it buy just printing coupons from online sources. But you can usually only print one or two. Also you are limited to what coupons are available to print at that time. 90% of my coupons that I have in my coupon binder come from The Daily Herald. I supplement with printable coupons because sometimes we didn't get a coupon for an item that is on sale that week in the paper.

Can I use more then one coupon?

Sometimes the coupon will say "One coupon per purchase" this means that you can use one coupon per item that you purchased. Some cashiers will tell you that it means you can only use one coupon per transaction. This is not true. The coupon is just telling you that you cannot combine it with another manufacturers coupon.
Now if you had a store coupon that specifically says Store Coupon in it and not manufacturers coupon then you can combine them. The reason you can is that the store is giving you the value of the coupon and then the manufacturer is giving you the value of the coupon. For example: Target has there own printable "Store Coupon". You can print off a coupon for $1.50/1 GE Light bulb from Target's website. Then use a manufacturers coupon received in the paper. So your total savings would be $2.50.
You can't take a printable manufacturers coupon for GE light bulb that says manufacturers coupon on it and combine that with a coupon received in the paper that says manufactures coupon on it as well. Just remember one manufactures coupon per item.
